Metals approved by automotive suppliers are high tech, high tensile strength alloys. The frame designs of RECARO® and KAB Seating heavy duty office chairs consist of tubular and stamped metal components. RECARO® for example uses a solid steel backrest pan that is designed to hold you in place while forming to the natural "S-Curve" of your spine. These components are robotically welded to insure consistently uniform and deep penetration welds. Many import chairs are constructed of low grade metals that are 'stick' welded in third world countries. In short, these are not reliable welds and can prematurely fail.

A key component of a superior heavy duty office chair are the recliner mechanisms. RECARO® for example uses a patented mechnism that is infinitely adjustable and locks both sides of the backrest into place.
